My friends and family call me Lucy, and I’ve always been drawn to photography - for as long as I can remember. Maybe it’s in my blood. I have a vivid memory of watching my dad develop 35mm film in a makeshift darkroom he set up in the bathroom of our one-bedroom apartment. Or maybe it’s the simple magic of being able to freeze a moment in time and hold onto a memory forever.

A few years ago, I got my first digital camera, a very basic one. Not long after, a friend asked if I’d photograph their wedding. I said yes… even though I had no idea how to shoot a wedding or what being a photographer really meant. But that was the beginning. That first wedding took place in the middle of the mountains, beside a turquoise lake in Banff National Park. A dream come true. Since then, I’ve known this is the journey I want to be on.

a little bit more about me.

As I like to say, I’m Czech-Canadian. I was born and raised in the beautiful capital city of the Czech Republic, Prague. In my twenties, I moved to Ireland, where I met my husband, John. We got married back in the Czech Republic and lived there for a few years before deciding, about fourteens years ago, to pack our bags, book flights for us and our two pups and start a new chapter in Canada.

Now, we’re based in Red Deer, Alberta, where we’ve settled into a cozy little house we call home. And when we’re not home, you’ll probably find us off exploring the mountains in our tiny camper - the iconic, egg-shaped Canadian Boler.

We’ve truly fallen in love with Canada. The wild beauty of the Rocky Mountains, the wide-open prairies, and the stunning landscape of the badlands. That deep connection with nature and our love of adventure influence my photography in a big way.
